Premium Red Wines
Australian Shiraz – $220
New 2014: The up-front aromatics reflect the dark fruit notes of blackberry, cherry, and plum, complimented by restrained black pepper. In the background are subtle layers of toast and vanilla from the oak. The aromas continue to the palate creating a soft, rounded expression of the fruits, spice, and oak.
Italian Amarone – $220
This Italian wine, which is full-bodied, richly dry and a deep garnet color, has a long, lingering finish. It has a foundation of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes from the Veneto region. Notes of plum, sour cherry, raspberry and vanilla gradually marry with anise, bitter chocolate, coffee and fig tones that develop with age. Its depth, which is likened to Port (without the sweetness), comes from the addition of dried grapes during fermentation.
Cabernet Sauvignon- $220
Powerful dark fruit qualities of the grape create a big, chewy mouth-feel that is a clear signature of this variety. Look for a hint of orange peel or Grand Marnier-like aromatics and flavors. Together these two traits make this Cabernet from Red Mountain, WA, immediately recognizable, highly prized, and much sought after.
Washington State Merlot- $220
Well structured and balanced. The grape skins add expressive flavors of dark ripe plum, berries and silky tannins. Impressive.
Argentinean Malbec – $195
The definitive star of Argentina. Our Malbec is distinguished by its dark, dense structure, full, rounded mouth-feel, prominent, lush flavours of ripe cherry, black currant and black berry, subtle notes of clove, vanilla and caramel with background suggestions of earthiness.
Super Tuscan – $220
Our gold medal winner made from Cabernet, Merlot and Sangiovese grapes. A big, full-bodied wine with solid structure and bold fruit notes. Hints of cassis, plum, and cherry balance the bold tannins of this hearty red. French and American oak contribute toasty vanilla flavors and rich complexity.
